Marian McGrath’s strength lies in her unmatched skill in uncovering rules of law not commonly found. Paired with an equally proficient ability at finding obscure case law, this is her trademark. She represents clients involved in complex business litigation. This unique skill set serves to complement the Pinta Law Group team of litigation professionals; specifically, Attorney Pinta's proclivity for thinking outside the box on complex business matters.
Driven to understand the deeper nuances of a case, Marian is quick to apply the rules of law and strategize with Attorney Pinta on the facts of a case. “There is a certain type of art form to it. Legal research supports the litigation or the defense, resulting in a quality product for our client,” she says.
In addition to her legal research acumen, Marian also possesses a complete benchmark of soft skills. An exemplary communicator, she is a careful listener, can find ways of relating to a client, and ascertain the correlation between what they express to the appropriate legal concept.
Prior to joining Pinta Law Group, Marian has practiced law for over twenty years. In that time, her experience in civil litigation has encompassed drafting pleadings; analyzing legal billing practices in compliance with the Rules of Professional Conduct and insurance and corporate billing guidelines of top US and foreign law firms; compiling data and writing reports in multi-million-dollar litigation based on the analysis of legal bills; responding to law firms’ appeals of suggested billing reduction; and completing legal and factual research projects for company officers.
Marian has also analyzed and researched legal issues in criminal proceedings, and written memoranda advising judges on the constitutionality of criminal defendants’ arguments in motions to suppress evidence.
She is also a mediator. In the past, she has mediated many small claims cases for adverse groups of litigants.
Marian’s legal background began as an adult. She has stated, “I had the best three years of my life in law school.” While there, she enjoyed the energy and competition that came with being a member of a more junior student body. She recalls how many of the students commented on and appreciated her dedication and focus to excel.
Since 2022, Marian has been a bar exam grader with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners. She has also served as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, part-time, teaching night school students the skills necessary for legal writing and conducting legal research, several of them with multiple advanced degrees. Previously, while attending the New England School of Law, she was on law review as a staff member from 2000 to 2001, and as a technical coordinating editor from 2001 to 2002.
